Wincanton 2-00 Novices Hurdle (Class 3) 15f
CELTIC ART (nap) rates top on the clock for this 18-runner novices hurdle, courtesy of his ready victory at Wincanton last month.
The form of that race has been franked since too, with the second horse home scoring at Plumpton next time out.
Twice raced over hurdles, the selection has scope for further improvement in this sphere, enough at least to see him follow up in today's one grade higher affair.
A 6-1 shot with bet365 at the time of writing, those odds look like value to this particular pundit.
Chelmsford 6-00 Handicap (Class 6) 7f
VOLTAIC (nb) found six furlongs a little on the sharp side at Kempton latest, but rallied well to finish fourth and post a premier LTO speed rating of 72. Top on the master speed list with a figure of 73, and with tonight's extra furlong certain to suit, it will come as no surprise if this 7yo gelding got back to winning ways. A 4-1 shot with William Hill at the time of writing, those odds or bigger should be taken.
Fakenham 3-50 Handicap Chase (Class 5) 21f
BOLSOVER BILL has won three of his last four starts over fences, and comes into today's contest and the best and most consistent clocker in the line up. Remaining at Class 5 level and with conditions to suit, the gelding must have every chance of going in again for his supporters.
Southwell 1-50 Handicap (Class 6) 6f
MY GENGHIS wasn't for catching in a five furlong novices event at Wolverhampton last month, a performance that also saw him register a top figure of 73. Down a notch in class today, the gelding can be fancied to follow up, especially as Southwell is known to favour prominent racers. Second top-rated Forever Dreaming makes plenty of appeal for the exacta.
Southwell 3-25 Handicap (Class 3) 12f
AZTEC EMPIRE came home a wide-margin winner at Kempton last month, while at the same time managing to generate a top figure of 88. Just denied over today's track and trip on his previous outing, this lightly raced colt has plenty of ticks in the important boxes here, and could well step forward again and follow up.
Wincanton 3-35 Novices Hurdle (Class 4) 21f
ANNIE MAGIC posted a list-dominant speed rating of 89 when chasing home Marsh Wren at Exeter last month, and only needs to reproduce that effort in order to go one place better in today's similar class contest. Successful at Wincanton on her previous outing, the mare knows where the winning post is, and also has an ability to handle any ground.
