Gowran Park 3-55 Handicap Hurdle 20f
BLUEBELL DIVA HAS PLENTY IN HER FAVOUR AT GOWRAN PARK
BLUEBELL DIVA (nap) hasn't done much wrong on her last three outings over hurdles, with her close up third at Limerick latest translating into a top figure of 93.
Today's trip and ground should be ideal for this in-form mare, who is still lightly raced enough in this sphere to be open to further improvement.
Pencilled in odds of 7-1 are another reason to look to get involved.
Gowran Park 2-50 Handicap Chase 25f
DARRENS HOPE (nb) got back to winning ways at Punchestown in November, with the form of the race getting a boost when the second horse home ran almost as fast in victory at Fairyhouse next time out. Top on the master speed list with a figure of 115, the selection must have every chance of following up this afternoon, especially as she has been lightly raced enough of late, and can be a consistent sort when firing on all cylinders.
Newcastle 5-00 Handicap (Class 6) 7f
CAPOFAN is returning from an absence of nearly three months, but makes some interest because of the figure of 71 she posted when last seen at Leicester in October. Staying on in decent fashion at the business end on that occasion, the filly wouldn't have to step forward much on that effort to play a major part this afternoon, that's if she is fit enough to do herself justice. Chalked up at 18-1 with William Hill at the time of writing, those odds or bigger should be taken.
Southwell 1-35 Handicap (Class 3) 8f
SHOT OF LOVE found six furlongs a little on the sharp side at this venue latest, yet still managed to hold on for fifth and post a top figure of 81. Blessed with a fair amount of stamina on the distaff side of his family, the colt is sure to appreciate today's step up to one mile, and is lightly raced enough in this sphere to take another step forward. All of which makes his early bird odds of 20-1 with Hills look way bigger than they should be, despite the fact that he is up a couple of notches in class.
Southwell 3-50 Stakes (Class 6) 5f
USTATH wasn't for catching in a six furlong classified event at this venue on Saturday, a performance that also saw him register a premier LTO speed rating of 64. Top on the master speed list with a figure of 69, and just denied over today's track and trip on his penultimate outing, the gelding has enough ticks in the important boxes to go in again here.
Wetherby 3-40 Handicap Chase (Class 4) 19f
LINCOLN LYN posted a top figure of 100 when scoring in decent style at Fakenham earlier in the month, and is lightly raced enough in this sphere to improve again today and record a follow up victory. The mare's previous form also suggests that this stiffer track and softer ground shouldn't be a bother to her.
