Cote d'Azur did himself no favours fighting for his head, pity he never got to the front as conditions were favouring front runners.
I thought the horse to take out of the race was Micky Hammond's Irv, going well he never got a gap when needed, backed from 20's to 11/2 so was expected to run well.
He is down to a winning handicap mark and is one for the notebook if the price is right.
Running profit/loss +21.5 points to level stakes.

You would be right but I wasn’t keen on the top rated as only 1 from 22 and he’s let me down a few times in the past.
The season before last I started swerving certain horse types which greatly improved profit margins.
Wemyss Point was a winner I rejected today but just using top rated without filters the selections would have been;
2-00 PONTEFRACT 5 WEMYSS POINT
2-30 PONTEFRACT 2 COTE D'AZUR
3-00 PONTEFRACT 3 DAPPER MAN (IRE)
4-00 PONTEFRACT 5 ALBA DE TORMES (IR
1-40 WINDSOR 2 HAWRIDGE FLYER
3-40 WINDSOR 2 SARAH'S VERSE
4-15 WINDSOR 3 TWICE AS LIKELY
4-45 WINDSOR 3 BAD COMPANY
If I notice a horse that is a value price that I can make a case for and we’re short on selections I will supplement it, if you’re uncomfortable with this just back the top rated the system works either way. I do use discretion in choosing selections for instance I don’t have too many on any one day if I can help it.
I may well get egg on my face even dogs win sometimes but overall we'll be better off.
I strive to improve our stats and I welcome your input.
