Today's Message
Crippling schedule today
Sunday only has 2 cards
It all seems a bit farcical
Sacrifices must be made
Have to drop some tracks
Cut back on some analysis
Strike rate will be damaged
With several big priced bets
Today's Best Bet
Haydock 2.20
JACOVEC CAVERN 11/1-10/1
Each Way 1/5 Odds 1-2-3-4
Not account strength
Just a sporting selection
Tomorrow far less choice
But much more time
And I will happily take that
Underneath The Message
Most races today
Minimum stakes
Interest bets only
The horses I'm betting
Or considered staking
Are these listed below
Haydock 1.45
12.00 Win Bet TACARIB BAY 8/1
8.00 Place Bet TACARIB BAY 5/4 (1-2-3)
I was going each way
But just 6 runners now
So I am going on Betfair
Using the 3 places market
Haydock 2.20
JACOVEC CAVERN 11/1-10/1
Each Way
1/5 Odds
1-2-3-4
20 Win bet for me
We have 4 non runners
So prices are shortening
We have lost the 5th place
I quietly fancy this bet a lot
But it is a big jump in class
Wont care if he only places
Kempton 2.40
HELM ROCK 20/1-22/1
5 Win Bet
This was the 14/1 horse
That I mentioned yesterday
We are being offered 20/1+
£5 Win for me well worth it
Think he has a lot to do
But he has the best profile
And happy with a small win
Much as it's advised e/way
Stratford 2.59
KANUKANKAN 2/1-9/4
20 Each Way
1/4 Odds 1-2
Not sure I will get the price
But 9/4 each way if all 5 run
Then this is 20 each way
This should be the best bet
But it is a little too extreme
Haydock 2.55
TAIPAN 16/1 (Betfair)
6 win
Ascot 3.10
3 Win Dance Fever 33/1 (Betfair)
3 Win Star Of Orion 18/1(Betfair)
Was not going to bother here
But my selections are drifting
And I cant resist a mad nibble
Yesterday's Summary
My best bet was a non runner
Slaney Tide withdrew 10.25am
Not before he was well backed
No doubt to increase the rule 4
Frustrating but it left no best bet
Suffered with other non runners
Centrefold did not run in his race
Annoying as our saver won that
So we could not have lost money
Greatgadian placed 2nd each way
Needed to as another non runner
Meant that we only had 2 places
But like most races not a problem
Viceregent was another non runner
There as an important saver bet
If we had known and replaced him
We would have avoided defeat too
Competitive with most of the races
But the message was compromised
With horses pulling out later in day
I was left with just one personal bet
But at least that horse was a winner
Compromised but was competitive

Long history to the race
REACH FOR THE MOON
Top rated by 1lbs
Not sure that entitles him
To be as short as he is though
When you factor in 79 days off
And just 2 runs in almost a year
He also drops from a 10f race
No past winner of this did that
TRIPLE TIME is a 3yo
He has not raced in a year
He only has 4 career starts
Every past winner of the race
Had 5 or more previous runs
BRUNCH has a nasty absence
BAYSIDE BOY each way
Will interest plenty of people
Has he trained on this year ?
That has been a worry all year
MARIES DIAMOND could win
TACARIB BAY interests me too
Nicely unexposed
Several past winners
Won this from a handicap
You can argue his 5th place
Just 7 days ago at Goodwood
Is not likely to be enough here
But he failed a big angle last week
Running off 106 in a handicap
Against older horses
Without a recent run
As I pointed out last week
He was a 3yo taking on elders
Running off a rating of 106
Without a recent run to help
That had never been done before
If that comes to soon he loses
But if it works as a fitness edge
He could easily run very close
He had the widest draw last week
He was not knocked about at all
He had previously been improving
I just think he could shock these

Had a good look at this
Felt the best strategy here
Take on the warm favourite
Dutch 2 or 3 others instead
DUBAI HONOUR could win
I don't like the recent race
So many past winners of this
Had much longer absences
Many laid out it for months
Stamina could be a problem
His sire has had 12f winners
None in Class 2 or higher yet
DUBAI HONOUR is up from 10f

GEAR UP is shortlistable

ROSE PRICK won last time out
But she is a filly going up 3 grades
URBAN SPRAWL is up 2 grades
